Holiday on the German Fairytale Route

Discover magical Marburg

If you want to discover fairy tales, then you’re at the right spot in Marburg and the surrounding region! With its old half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, steep steps, romantic marketplace and imposing Castle of the Landgrave, the medieval flair of our university city impressed even the Brothers Grimm. Stroll through magical Marburg in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm.

Marburg, located on the German Fairy Tale Route, is simply inseparable from the Brothers Grimm: This is where Jacob and Wilhelm lived and studied, and to this day there is still a lot to discover about the Grimms in the area. Experience Marburg and its mixture of medieval city centre, imposing Castle of the Landgrave and the many historic palaces and castles in the surrounding area in central Hesse. The majority of the most beautiful sights in Marburg are just a short walk from our VILA VITA Rosenpark hotel.

The Fairytale Trail

A highlight on the German Fairy Tale Route

A magical experience, and not only for children: At seven stations along the Fairytale Trail, you will find fascinating fairytale characters hiding out on houses in the narrow historical half-timbered alleys, on stairs, walls and even high up on Marburg’s Castle of the Landgrave, along with informational signs about the stories they come from. Fun for all ages.
